ABOUT

Russell Howard has been handcrafting bespoke woodcraft pieces ranging from dining tables to cabinets, to curvaceous reading chaises and ukuleles since the early 1990’s when he moved to the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Russell’s rich knowledge of timber is evident in his work with the use of Australian favourites – Tasmanian Blackwood, Australian Rosewood, Red Gum and the Eucalpyts, Sassafras and Myrtle, MacKay Cedar, and specialty Burl pieces. Naturally if a client wishes to use a different non-Australian timber for a certain look or to complement an existing setting, Russell is happy to source the timbers on the client’s behalf.
A meticulous application of design and manufacture is what makes Russell’s works unique. Many feature exposed joinery and wedged tenons which not only create a visual element but also enable pieces to be collapsed and flat packed for storage and shipping.
